My father passed away so been working on his trust and other tedious tasks. I AM LEGEND

I guess there is some misunderstanding about this novel and a novel it is and NOT a short story. The book on most printings is 320 pages. It is not a long novel but gauged at this length it is around 80,000 words which makes it clearly a novel and nowhere near being a short story which is max 7,500 words ballpark. DO WORDS COUNT?

Did you ever wonder how long your book or short story should be and if it falls in between what your market would be? Below is a tentative list that many publishers go by and where they would be marketable. First we would start with a page count and generally that would run about 250 words per page. Therefore when you count the pages in your novel, if you had 400 pages it would equal 100,000 words.
